I built this palazzo not as a place for travelers to sleep, but as a place for the weary to remember why life is beautiful.

A Palace Reborn

Nestled in the heart of Padova's historic quarter, Palazzo Sera began its life as the private residence of Count Alesso Sera, a patron of the arts whose salons drew poets, painters, and philosophers from across Europe.

In 2006, the Sera family undertook a meticulous five-year restoration, engaging master artisans to preserve the original frescoes, terrazzo floors, and hand-carved stone balustrades while introducing the quiet luxuries of modern hospitality. Every room is a conversation between centuries.

Today, with just twenty-four rooms, Palazzo Sera remains one of Italy's most intimate and storied addresses — a place where history is not displayed but lived.

What Our Guests Say

A revelation. From the moment the heavy oak doors swung open, I felt I had stepped into another century. The Suite Imperiale is the most beautiful room I have ever slept in — and I have slept in many.

The staff anticipates your needs before you know them yourself. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the courtyard garden is reason enough to visit Padova. We extended our stay twice.

We chose Palazzo Sera for our anniversary and it exceeded every expectation. The concierge arranged a private tour of the Scrovegni Chapel at dusk — an experience I will carry for the rest of my life.
